Morning Mysore at Abundance Wellness Center
Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays
6 am – 8:30 am
Are you interested in learning yoga with one-on-one instruction? Mysore yoga is a traditional form of yoga in which individuals learn one-on-one from a teacher a set sequence of poses that they eventually memorize. The instructor provides hands on guidance and teaches the poses to the student, and helps them learn how to deepen their practice and personalize the poses based on their own body and needs. At first, students will just learn introductory poses, but as these poses become comfortable, students are taught new poses, slowly lengthening their practice. Classes are held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at Abundance Wellness Center, located at 325 John Knox Rd #1. New practitioners should arrive between 6:30 am and 7:00 and they should expect to spend 35-40 min for their first several practices. Over time, the practice will lengthen. Dawn Carr currently runs the mysore program. The cost is about $40/month, or $5 per class. However, if you’d like to try things out, the first two classes are free.

AWC is somewhat difficult to find the first time. Turn into the office buildings at the stop light opposite Trousdell Aquatic Center. When the road ends, AWC is located on the left. Drive down the driveway to the back of the building where there is a parking lot. Enter through the back gate, where you’ll find the back door. The practice is held just inside the back door.
